Martial Arts Events Trip (12 - 14 Day)



Trip Introduction

 

This trip is designed for people to come China to attend one of Martial Arts events, festivals or competitions. These events that include the famous Shaolin International Festivals in Henan Province, International Wushu, Kung Fu Tournaments in Beijing and Shanghai etc. After the events, trips to other cities or sightseeing & leisure programs will be arranged.

Available Travel and Sightseeing Programs


Beijing

Visit the major historical sites such as The Great Wall, Forbidden City and Summer Palace etc. Train with the Masters in Martial Arts workshops in Beijing, Learn new skills like Chinese calligraphy, Chinese Medicine in specially arranged Culture & Arts workshops. Enjoy social activities such as a night at the Peking Opera, sampling tea in a Teahouse, learning how to play the game of Mahjong, making Chinese Dumplings and watching the world-famous Chinese Acrobatic show.

Shaolin Temple

Participants will get the chance to visit the renowned Shaolin Temple and study Shaolin Kung Fu with Kung Fu masters for two days at the temple. There will be two groups, namely an External group which focuses on hard Kung Fu training, the internal group will be taught the Buddhism Qi Gong and Meditation. In addition we will watch the Shaolin Kung Fu performance, which will be really exciting in its self, quite apart from the stunning beauty of the temple. Participants can also visit nearby cities and other sightseeing spots.

 

Terracotta Warriors in Xian

Xi¡¯an was one of the world¡¯s richest and most important cities and is still one of the most prosperous in China. With an extensive and rich cultural history, having been the imperial capital for 11 dynasties, its modern day fame extends from the world-renowned Terracotta Army unearthed and displayed here. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Work is ongoing at this site, which is around 1.5 kilometres east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum, Lintong County, Shaanxi province. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China.

 

Hua Mountains in Xian

As one of the five best-known mountains in China, .Hua Mountain is located to the south of Huayin city, 120 kilometers east of Xian, in Shanxi province, with an elevation of 2200 meters above sea level. In ancient times, Mt. Huashan was called Mt. Taihuashan. Seen from afar, the five peaks looks like five petals of a flower hence its name, Mt. Huashan (five flowers). Today, it is listed as one of the renowned national scenic spots.


Wudang Mountains in Hubei

Wudang Mountain is where Taoism, Chinese indigenous philosophy and religion began. It is one of the famous mountains in China, which situated in the Northwest corner of Hubei province. The Wudang mountain range is a subsidiary chain of the Qin and Ba ranges, and like all mountains in south/central China, Wudang's 72 peaks rise abruptly out of the flat, green patchwork of rice paddies and scattered villages. As we know that Wudang is famous for its Wudang Kung Fu, our participants will be doing Qigong and Tai Chi Kung Fu training, visiting sacred temples and scenic mountain hideaways.


 
 
 
Travel Information

Transportation
Our staff will meet you at Beijing International Capital Airport and will be holding an orange colored SCIC sign to identify them. A trip welcome pack will be handed out to every participant so you can start enjoying your China experience straight away, whilst our staff introduces the program on the coach. We will take you back to the Airport once the trip finished. Our private coach and driver will be provided during your trip in China for safe and pleasant transport to and from the hotels and to every place where the activities take place, such the historical sites, training places, downtown in Beijing and the train station.

Accommodation
Participants will stay at either 3 or 4 Star hotels depending on the location of the activities taking place during your visit in China. Standard rooms have one double or twin beds, air-conditioning, en suite shower/bath room and satellite television. Some hotels offer facilities such as choice of restaurants and pubs, Health and Fitness club with gym, Jacuzzi, indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, massage, bowling, table tennis and games room. All the accommodation we have selected is generally good condition, with two people sharing a standard room.

Food & Beverages
All meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) are included in the trip except last two free days. Breakfast in the hotel is generally buffet style with a choice of both Western style and Chinese food, but lunches and dinners in local restaurants are mostly Chinese food. Chinese tea, soft drinks and Chinese beer are served with lunch and dinner and there are plenty of dishes available for vegetarians. If you have special requirements for your meals, please inform us on the registration form in advance. (Plus the wonderful welcome dinner and the farewell party).

Briefing & Orientation
Participants will be given a comprehensive orientation session on the first day of arrival. This briefing will provide all the information about our trip including local map, itinerary, timetable, emergency contact numbers, plus the locations of amenities such as pubs, supermarkets and post office. In addition, participants will be taken on a brief tour around the hotel and then on a more extensive walking tour of the neighborhood so you can orientate yourself and make the most of local facilities.

Flights Information
Our trip programs do not include the return flights from your home country, so flight tickets should be obtained prior by yourself or the group leader or school teacher to departure. This can be done by phoning the airline direct e.g. Air-China, BA or via a travel agencies in your local area. Alternatively tickets can be bought via the Internet (e.g.www.expedia.com).

Visa Instruction
Chinese visas can be easily applied for 3 months prior to the trip. This can be done by visiting the Visa Office or Chinese Embassy in your home country. We will provide all the information and documents for your visa application. All applicants should submit an application in person or through a third party (e.g. travel agency). If you come to the trip as a group from martial arts schools, the group visa can be arranged either by the group leader or the school teacher.

Travel Insurance
It is highly recommended that all travelers have adequate travel insurance cover, especially for the purposes of flight cancellation and medical expanses. You will be responsible for arranging it yourself with the insurance companies or travel agencies in your home country.
