  Tai Chi & Daoyin Qigong Program  
 
Designed for: Individuals worldwide who interested in coming to China for Tai Chi or Daoyin Qigong Study, as well as life experience
Aims at: Aimed at improving students¡¯ levels and knowledge of Tai Chi or Daoyin Qigong through intensive training and theory study.
Available from: Short Term: 2 weeks to 12 weeks
Long Term: 1 Semester to 1 academic year

  Introduction  
 

These unique training programs are designed to combine the Intensive Tai Chi and Daoyin Qigong study courses at Beijing Sports University, the top Sports and Martial Arts institution in China with specially arranged extra classes, Culture & Arts Workshops, Social Activities and Sightseeing Programs etc.

These programs not only provide a unique opportunity for students to learn the Authentic Chinese Tai Chi and Daoyin Qigong under the guidance of top young and old Masters in China, but also allow students to learn and experience real Chinese life, in terms of learning other aspects of Chinese culture & arts, enjoying local activities, and visiting famous cultural and historical attractions.

1. Taiji Quan Group

Tai Chi group focuses on basic training, which includes stance, hand postures and body techniques etc. There are many forms available to learn, but how many forms that one can learn depend on the duration of program selected.

2. Daoyin Qigong Group
Dao yin Qi Gong is a comprehensive system of gentle exercises involving breath control, the stimulation of key acupressure points in the body and mental development. The system consists presently of eight sets, which between them promote health in all the major organs, promoting good circulation and strengthening the bones. All the exercises are suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions. Through the study of theory and method of DAO YIN QI GONG, students are encouraged to acquire knowledge on the history and present development of traditional Chinese ways to maintain health and master the technique and mechanism of preventing disease and prolong life. Thus, students may keep healthy both mentally and physically so as to bring benefit to society.

Certificate
All participants will be presented with a certificate of the study and training programs attended by the University, which is recognized by the International Wushu Federation.

Masters and teachers
The martial arts (Wushu) or Kung Fu masters and instructors selected by the SCIC specialize in each particular style of martial arts. Students will have the opportunity to learn and train under the guidance of some of China's prominent martial arts masters and past national champions. These masters and instructors are highly experienced and dedicated to providing high quality training for all students no matter the level of skill -- from total beginners to participants competing in national competitions.

Included Study Materials
All textbooks, handouts, training uniforms, shoes and weapons for the program will be provided free of charge by SCIC.

Additional Classes
Additional Classes including the introduction to Chinese Language, Martial Arts Terms, after class training with Chinese Students, private classes etc. Also we have a trip to visit the Beijing Wushu Team.

Social Activities
A wide range of activities will be organized throughout the program including a Peking Duck feast, Chinese Hot Pot night, karaoke, Chinese teahouse, Peking opera and souvenir shopping. Our dinners and social evenings are fun filled events and are a great way to meet other people from all over the world. Activities are usually arranged once a week. More info

Culture & Arts Workshops
Culture and arts workshops such as Chinese calligraphy, brush painting, Chinese medicine, traditional musical instruments, making Chinese dumplings etc. are a unique opportunity for students to learn and experience some of China¡¯s traditional skills and crafts. All workshops are taught and demonstrated by professionals of each craft. Workshops are usually held once a week. More info

Optional Weekend Tours
Specially arranged weekend tours provide a good opportunity for students to discover Beijing's major historical and cultural attractions, including the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City. Admission, transportation and English speaking guides are provided at no extra cost. More info
