  Language Plus(Martial Arts)  
 
Designed for: Individuals worldwide who interested in coming to China for Martial Arts and Chinese Language study
Aims at: Improving students¡¯ levels and knowledge of Chinese Martial arts through intensive training and study. To learn basic Chinese Language for future benefits
Available from: Short Term: 2 weeks to 12 weeks

  INTRODUCTION  
 

The SCIC Martial Arts & Language China programs are designed to combine the Intensive Martial Arts training and language study courses at Beijing Sports University, the top Sports and Martial Arts institution in China with specially arranged extra classes, Culture & Arts Workshops, Social Activities and Sightseeing Programs etc.

These programs not only provide a unique opportunity for students to learn the Authentic Chinese Martial Arts under the guidance of top young and old Masters in China, but also allow students to learn and experience real Chinese life, in terms of learning other aspects of Chinese Culture & Arts, Enjoying Local activities, and visiting famous cultural and historical attractions.

 
  Optional Martial Arts Courses:  
 

1. Wushu class focuses on the basics and forms of contemporary Wushu; therefore, it is ideal for younger people and Wushu teachers. More info

2. Sanshou is a modern form of full contact Wushu based on the tradition of martial arts. Sanda Class focus on learning the training methods and basic San Shou techniques such as punches, kicks, grasping and throwing. More info

3. Tai Ji classes focus on basic training for competition forms such as 24 and 42-steps, as well as other family styles and push hands. This group is more suitable for those who like internal styles and gentle exercise. More info

4. Daoyin Qigong is designed for those who are keen on breathing/health exercises and the treatment of ailments. Daoyin is a newly developed internal exercise, which focuses on improving health through mental and physical training. More info


 
  Language Course (Specifically for Beginners)  
 

Chinese Language (Mandarin) is a very important aspect of Chinese Culture. Understanding Chinese Mandarin is very useful for learning Chinese culture and martial arts. Our Language classes focus on developing listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and pronunciation. Topics studied include everyday situations, as well as Chinese culture, society, and history. Listening and speaking skills are emphasized in order for participants to attain communicative proficiency. Qualified and experienced teachers from the university teach the language classes.

Certificate
All participants will be presented with a certificate of the study and training programs attended, which is recognized by the International Wushu Federation.

Included Study Materials
All textbooks, handouts, training uniforms, shoes and weapons for the program will be provided free of charge by SCIC.

Additional Classes
Additional Classes including the introduction to Chinese Language, Martial Arts Terms, after class training with Chinese Students, private classes etc.

Social Activities
A wide range of activities will be organized throughout the program including a Peking Duck feast, Chinese Hot Pot night, karaoke, Chinese teahouse, Peking opera and souvenir shopping. Our dinners and social evenings are fun filled events and are a great way to meet other people from all over the world. Activities are usually arranged once a week. More info

Culture & Arts Workshops
Culture and arts workshops such as Chinese calligraphy, brush painting, Chinese medicine, traditional musical instruments, making Chinese dumplings etc. are a unique opportunity for students to learn and experience some of China¡¯s traditional skills and crafts. All workshops are taught and demonstrated by professionals of each craft. Workshops are usually held once a week. More info

Optional Weekend Tours
Specially arranged weekend tours provide a good opportunity for students to discover Beijing's major historical and cultural attractions, including the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City. Admission, transportation and English speaking guides are provided at no extra cost. More info
