IN BEIJING

The workshops will be divided into four different groups, namely Wushu, Tai Chi, Chi Gong and San Shou, which will focus on improving student¡¯s level through intensive basic training and learning of new competition forms. There will be 2 or 3 days of training, 2 to 3 hours per day training session either in the morning or afternoon. Participants will be taught and trained under the guidance of China's prominent Wushu masters and past National Chinese Wushu Champions. These highly experienced masters are dedicated to providing high quality training for all students, from total beginners to participants competing in National Wushu competitions.

Please note that the minimum number for each workshop is 7 participants, if less than 7, we will select the workshops that requested by majority of participants.

 

Tai Chi Group

Tai Chi group will focus on basic training which includes stance, hand postures and body techniques etc. There are many forms available to learn, which includes Chen style, Yang style, Sun style, Wu style, Tai Chi Fan, Tai Chi Swords, Hsin yi, Ba gua, Tong Bei, Pushing Hands forms and applications. There will be two forms selected to learn for this group.

Dao Ying Qi Gong Group

Dao yin Qi Gong is a comprehensive system of gentle exercises involving breath control, the stimulation of key acupressure points in the body and mental development. The system consists presently of eight sets, which between them promote health in all the major organs, promoting good circulation and strengthening the bones. All the exercises are suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions. This Qi Gong group will learn the 49 most popular Comprehensive forms from the senior students of Professor Zhang, the founder of this system at the Beijing University of Physical Education.

Wushu Group

Basics are the key for students to improve their levels. This group will focus on basics training such as kicks, stances, turning and spinning movements. There is also the opportunity to learn new forms, which include Chang Quan, Nan Quan, Nan Dao, Nan Gun, Broadsword, Straight-sword, Staff, Spear. (The new international forms are also available) Weapon sparing, Two men Sparring set, Three men fighting forms. Drunken style, Mantis style, Eagle style, Double Broadswords, Double Straight-swords, Pu dao, Nine-section whip. We will select two of these forms in this group

San Shuo Group

San Shou is a modern form of full contact Wushu based on the tradition of martial arts. Attack is the essence of Wushu. In San Shou the contestants compete with such techniques as kicking, hitting and wrestling under certain regulations. They are permitted to use both hands and feet, which facilitates flexible moves and tricks. This group will focus on learning the training methods and basic San Shou techniques such as punches, kicks, grasping and throwing. It¡¯s ideal for students to improve their San Shou levels.

Morning Exercises at the parks

There are often many Beijing locals and Kung Fu masters practicing their martial arts in the park, which provides a great chance for our participants to learn and try some pushing hands with them. Schools or individuals could also arrange for themselves to take a short training on the Great Wall during our visit. Imagine doing training on the Great Wall of China. It should be an exciting experience

Tai Chi Ball or Tennis

Tai Chi Soft-Ball exercise has been created by professor Zhang in Beijing Sports University recent years. It¡¯s a new traditional exercise which based on the principle of Yin and Yang (Tai Chi), strongly emphasis the exercise of joints. A long period of exercise of Tai Chi Soft-ball will improve both your internal and external physical and health condition. This unique workshop has been specially organized for all the participants of China Culture Trip.

Visiting Professional Team

The Beijing Wushu Team and Henan Wushu Team are two of the most famous professional Wushu teams in China. Many top Wushu athletes such as Jet-li and Liu Qinghua were trained here by famous teachers such as Mr. Wu Bin. Our students will have the opportunity to watch their daily training session and a special demonstration, which will help students to understand the training schedules and contents of professional teams in China.
