Profile of Wushu Instructors


The Wushu teaching group is comprised of a group of former professional Wushu athletes and teachers from Beijing University. The group includes Liu Qinghua, who is the coach of the Beijing Wushu team, Li Yuanjing, a Long Fist (Changquan) teacher, Zhu Hong, who teaches Southern Fist (Nanquan) and finally Zhang Meng, a former member of the Shandong professional team.


Teacher Chen Lei

Master Chen Lei started his Wushu training at the age of 8 in the Shaolin Temple and was selected by the Yunnan Professional Team at the age of 13. He obtained the title of Master Athlete (Wuyin) in 1995 and won his first national championship in 1995. In 1999 he received his 6th Dan title, and graduated with a BA degree in Wushu from Beijing Sport University in 2000. From 2001 to 2003 he taught the National Squad of Great Britain. Master Chen has taught over 2000 students from all over the world from 2000 to 2009, and specializes in Taiji (all styles), Daoyin, Tongbei and Drunken styles. He is the director of the Martial Arts division in SCIC Beijing.

   


Teacher Wang Xiaona

Teacher Wang holds a Master level in Wushu and is a former professional Wushu athlete. She was selected by Wu Bin as a member of the Beijing Wushu Team in 1997 and has won national championships in Broadsword, Staff, Long First and Double Broadswords from 1998 to 2003. She has also won gold medals in the Changquan set at the 10th China National Games (Wushu Championships) in 2001. Now she is a Wushu teacher at Beijing Sport University. She works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu teacher.


Teacher Li Yuanjun

Teacher Liyuanjun holds a Master level in Wushu and is a former professional Wushu athlete in Hebei Team. She graduated with a BA degree in Wushu Education from Beijing Sport University in 1988, and specializes in Northern styles (Changquan, Broadsword and Cuojia kick techniques). She works for SCIC Beijing as a teacher for international students at Beijing Sport University. 


Coach Liu Qinghua

Coach Liu is chief instructor of the Men's Team in the Beijing Wushu Team, holds a Master level in Wushu, is a former professional Wushu athlete, and was selected by Wu Bin as a member of the Beijing Wushu Team in 1994. She has won consecutive national championships in Straight-sword, Spear, Long First and Long Tassel Sword from 1994 to 2000, and has also won gold medals in the Changquan set at the 2nd and 3rd world Wushu Championships. She works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu coach.


Coach Liu Haibo

Coach Liu is chief instructor of the Men's Team in the Henan Wushu Team, holds a Master level in Wushu, is a former professional Wushu athlete, and has won over 12 national championships in Broadsword, Staff, Pudao and Long Fist from 1992 to 1998. He is also a former member of the Chinese National Squad and won gold medals in the 1st World Wushu Championships in Macao. He works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu coach in Henan.  


Coach Fu Yang

Teacher Fu Yang holds a Master level in Wushu, is a former professional wushu athlete, and was selected by Wu Bin as a member of the Beijing Wushu Team in 1998. She has won national championships in Straight-sword, Spear, Long First, Double Straight Swords and Bagua from 1996 to 2002. She also won gold medals in the Changquan set at the 3rd World Wushu Championships. She now works as a Wushu teacher for the China Wushu Association, and works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu coach.

   

Teacher Li Yanrong

Teacher Liyanrong holds a Master level in Chinese Wushu (Wuyinji) and is a former professional Wushu athlete. She graduated with a BA degree in Wushu Education from Beijing Sport University in 2001, and now works as a Wushu teacher in the Capital Institute of Physical Education in Beijing. She specializes in Long Fist (Changquan), Broadsword (Daoshu), Staff (Guanshu) and Xingyi competition forms. She works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu teacher. 


Teacher Ding Chuanwei

Teacher Ding started training in Wushu in early childhood and holds a Master level in Wushu. He is is a former national Wushu champion in Staff (Gunshu), Longfist (Changquan) and Broadsword (Daoshu), and specializes in several forms of Wushu. Master Ding  is currently ranked as a 5th dan and works as a Wushu teacher in the Capital Institute of Physical Education in Beijing. He works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu teacher.


Teacher Fang Bo

Master Fang began practicing Wushu professionally over 15 years ago and is currently ranked as a 5th Dan. He has consistently placed highly in many Asian and national Wushu championships, and specializes in Chang Quan, Straightsword, Zui Jian and Spear. He is frequently invited to display his talents on China's many television stations such as CCTV and BTV. He works for SCIC Beijing as a Wushu teacher.


Teacher Wang Li Na

Master Wang is a graduate of Beijing Sports University and is currently ranked as a 5th Dan. She was the 2007 Chinese National Champion of the Wushu Games in Shuang Dao and also placed second in Quan. She has been an ambassador of Wushu to France and Malaysia on behalf of the Chinese National Wushu Team, and specializes in Chang Quan, Gun, Dao and Shuang Dao. She works for SCIC Beijing as a private Wushu teacher.


Teacher Zhu Hong

Teacher Zhuhong holds a Master level in Wushu and is a former professional Wushu athlete in Anhui Team. He graduated with a BA degree in Wushu Education from the Beijing Sport University in 2001, and now works as a Wushu teacher at Beijing Sport University. He specializes in Southern styles (Nanquan, Nandao and Nanguan) and Xingyi Fist. He works as a supervisor and private teacher for SCIC Beijing. 



Coach Gou Yu Fen

Master Gou has been practicing Wushu for over 12 years. He is currently ranked as a 5th Dan, and is a National Champion as well as an Asian Games Champion of Nan Quan. He is also a master of Nan Dao, Nag Gun, Fanzi Quan, Dao and Gun. He is a Wushu teacher in the Capital Institute of Physical Education, and works for SCIC Beijing as a teacher in Southern styles.


Teacher Meng Tao

Master Meng started training in Wushu as a child. From the age of 10 she trained under Master Wu Bin (Jet Li's teacher and head coach of the Beijing Wushu team) and Master Li Junfeng. She has represented Beijing in a number of national competitions winning the gold medal in the Dao and Fists competition forms. In 1990, Master Meng was trained by Bagua Master Liu Jing Ru (traditional Bagua master and coach for the Beijing Wushu team in the 1980s). She is currently ranked as a 5th Dan and works for SCIC Beijing as a Bagua teacher.
