Capital Institute of Physical Education
The Capital Institute of Physical Education (CIPE, formerly Beijing Teachers' College of Physical Education) was founded in 1956 in Beijing Municipality. In 1994, with Department of Education approval, it started to enroll foreign students.
The CIPE teaches all types of sports subjects including both undergraduate and postgraduate courses for Chinese and international students. The primary aim of the Institute is to train students to become a qualified teacher in Physical Education. The International Department also provides beginner and comprehensive Chinese language courses for international students, especially students who are undertaking martial arts study in the institute. The Wushu Teaching Department is one of the most popular divisions in the Institute; each year more than 200 international students from SCIC Beijing travel to China specifically to study and train here.
-Wushu & Taiji Teaching Department
There are two divisions in the Wushu Teaching Department. One is specifically for Chinese students who are trained to become qualified teachers in different styles of Chinese martial arts include Wushu (Taolu), Wushu (Sanshou - Chinese Kick Boxing)n and Tai Chi (Taiji Quan). Another division is specially formed for students worldwide to come to China for professional martial arts training. There is a group of dedicated and high respected teachers, instructors and professors aiming to provide high quality training courses for international students.

-Living Environment
The CIPE is conveniently located in the university area of Haidian, with excellent transport links. Nearby commercial areas include supermarkets, banks and restaurants, making everyday life easy. The campus has excellent educational, fitness and leisure facilities, and when out of class students can exercise, take a sauna, swim, play table tennis, badminton or tennis and more.
-Accommodation
There is 1 dormitory building for foreign students to live. There are altogether 90 ordinary rooms and 3 standard rooms. There is a TV set, an air conditioner, a telephone and Internet connector (Bill is not included), a desk and bedding, bathroom in each room. There is a public kitchen and a laundry in each floor and an Internet and reading room available in free of charge. (Available for both single and double rooms)

-Meals at the Institute
The canteens on campus in Capital Institute of Physical Education offer single dish meals with rice for as little as 5 RMB (US$.60) per meal. Chinese restaurants on campus and in the local area offer meals for 10 - 20 RMB (US$2-4) per person. Western restaurants cost between 25 and 50 RMB (US$4 - 8) per person per meal. There is also Muslim food available for students at the campus.
